Tax day should be the most boring day of your year.

Motabhai turns your invoices into one daily number — what you owe in VAT and corporate tax, and what to put aside this week — so the deadline is just a date on a calendar.

The deadline is not the problem. Finding out late is.

It's 11pm, three days before the VAT return. You're digging through WhatsApp for invoices, pasting numbers into Excel, and you still can't answer the only question that matters: do I owe money this quarter, and is it sitting in the account? This September, thousands of owners filed their first corporate tax return the same way — and found out what they owed in the week they had to pay it.

Your accounting system is WhatsApp, Excel, and a prayer.
You learn what you owe when it's too late to set it aside.
Late payment now costs 14% a year, charged for every month or part of a month. Putting money aside weekly costs nothing.
The rules moved. Quietly.

Three things every UAE owner should know in 2026.

Small Business Relief runs to 2029 — if you qualify every year.

Revenue at or under AED 3M in the current and all prior periods means eligible resident businesses can elect 0% corporate tax, now extended to periods ending on or before 31 December 2029. It is elected on every return, and crossing the line once ends it. Motabhai shows where you stand against AED 3M all year, not at filing.

Late payment costs 14% a year, charged monthly.

Since 14 April 2026, unpaid VAT and corporate tax carry a penalty of 14% a year, imposed for each month or part of a month from the day after the due date. Motabhai tells you what to set aside each week so there is nothing to be late with.

New rules keep arriving.

From 1 October 2026 (FTA Decision 13/2026), verify a supplier before reclaiming VAT on a purchase of AED 10,000 or more, or once you buy AED 100,000 or more from them in twelve months; until it is verified the VAT stays under review, and checks are renewed every twelve months. E-invoicing follows in 2027. Ask Motabhai explains each rule through bilingual explainers (English and Arabic), as it applies to your business.

How it works

Three steps. One number. Every day.

1

Add your numbers

Type in or upload invoices and expenses — minutes, not hours.

2

Motabhai does the tax math daily

UAE VAT + corporate tax rules — mainland or free zone — applied to your live numbers.

3

You get one number

What you owe, what to set aside, and when it's due.

Every invoice you add sharpens the number — and by filing day, you have a draft VAT summary laid out box by box in the Form 201 order, for you and your advisor to check before filing.

What changes

Get your evenings back.

Evenings backLogging an invoice takes seconds. The bookkeeping backlog stops being a thing you dread.
Paid on timeUnpaid invoices sit on your dashboard where you can't ignore them — VAT can become due before your customer pays. The tax point depends on the supply, invoice and payment dates and any special rules, so chasing early is money.
No deadline scrambleThe money is already set aside, a week at a time. The 28th is a date, not an event.
Cheaper mistakesDuplicate bills get flagged, every number traces to its invoice, and nothing surprises you at filing.
What you get

Fewer surprises. Fewer fees. More evenings.

📅

Set aside today. Not scramble in April.

Daily VAT and corporate tax, calculated from your live invoices, with a weekly amount to put aside.

🏢

Keep your 0% until 2029.

Eligible resident businesses can elect Small Business Relief for periods ending on or before 31 December 2029, if revenue stayed at or under AED 3M in the current and all relevant prior periods and no exclusion applies. Motabhai tracks your revenue against the line all year.

What owners ask us first

What does Motabhai actually tell me every day?

One number: what you owe so far, VAT and corporate tax together, plus what to set aside each week and how many days until it's due. You glance at it, put the money aside, and get back to work.

Where does Motabhai's number come from?

Your invoices, in and out. VAT you've collected minus VAT you can reclaim, and corporate tax accruing on your profit. Every figure traces back to an invoice line you can open and check.

How do I get my invoices and receipts into Motabhai?

Three ways: type them in (two fields), tap a template for common UAE bills like DEWA, Etisalat or Salik, or upload a PDF, photo or spreadsheet — Motabhai reads the vendor, amount and VAT, and you approve every row before anything touches your books.

I already use Zoho, Xero, or Excel — can I bring my invoices over?

Yes. Export your invoices as a CSV or Excel file from your current tool and upload them — Motabhai reads them in bulk, and you approve every row before anything touches your books. A direct connection is on the roadmap.

Corporate tax is new to me. Do I even owe it?

0% on your first AED 375,000 of profit, 9% above that. If your revenue is under AED 3M you can elect Small Business Relief and pay 0% — that relief now runs to the end of 2029, but you elect it on every return and must stay under the line each year. The Corporate Tax page shows exactly where you stand, all year.

What does it cost to pay late?

A penalty of 14% a year on the unpaid amount, imposed monthly for each month or part of a month, from the day after it was due. Motabhai's weekly set-aside exists so that number never applies to you.

What changed on 1 October 2026?

From 1 October 2026 (FTA Decision 13/2026), verify a supplier before reclaiming VAT on a purchase of AED 10,000 or more, or once you buy AED 100,000 or more from them in twelve months; until it is verified the VAT stays under review, and checks are renewed every twelve months. Ask Motabhai explains the thresholds and what to keep on file, in plain language. Your reclaim numbers still trace to each invoice, so the paperwork is already where you need it.

When does e-invoicing apply to me?

Businesses under AED 50M revenue must appoint an FTA-accredited service provider by 31 March 2027 and issue in-scope B2B and B2G invoices electronically from 1 July 2027. Start now by checking every customer's and supplier's legal name, TRN and address. Motabhai's calendar carries both dates.

What happens on filing day?

You get a draft VAT summary laid out box by box in the Form 201 order, computed from your invoices — for you and your advisor to check before filing. Print it or save the PDF for your records.

Will I miss a deadline?

The Tax Calendar counts down every VAT and corporate tax date for your business, and your dashboard always shows the days left on the next one. (ESR? Discontinued for financial years from 2023 — one less thing to file. If it ever returns, your calendar will know.) No more finding out at 11pm.

Can my accountant or my staff use Motabhai?

Yes — invite your accountant with view-only access so they see the numbers without changing anything, and staff can add invoices without touching settings or billing. You stay in control.

I don't speak accountant. Do I need to?

No. Motabhai includes bilingual explainers (English and Arabic) alongside your numbers, so you always know what you're looking at and why it matters.

What if there's a mistake in my books?

Motabhai flags likely duplicate bills before they inflate your VAT reclaim, everything is editable, and your data exports to Excel anytime. Nothing is locked in and nothing is hidden.

Is Motabhai's number final enough to file with?

It's a planning estimate built from your real invoices — review it with your advisor before filing. Motabhai's job is getting you to that conversation prepared in minutes, not hours.
