Privacy Policy

This page explains what Motabhai collects, why, and who else touches it. Short version: we collect what's needed to calculate your tax and run the product, nothing more. We never sell personal data.

What we collect

• Your email address (used to sign in).
• Business profile details you enter, including business name, licence type, activities, and financial year.
• Invoices, expenses, and documents you upload for VAT and corporate tax calculations.
• Basic product analytics events such as pages viewed and features used, identified by an internal ID.

How we use it

To calculate your VAT and corporate tax figures, show deadlines, run the product, and improve it. That's it. We never sell personal data.

Who processes it (sub-processors)

• Supabase: database and file storage.
• Stripe: payments. We never see or store card numbers.
• Resend: transactional email (sign-in codes and account emails).
• PostHog EU: product analytics. Users are identified by an internal ID, not by email.
• Sentry EU: error monitoring. No personal data is included in error reports.
• AI model provider: powers "Ask Motabhai". Only the question text is sent, never account credentials.

Data location and security

Data is stored with the providers listed above. Access to your business's data is restricted per business using row-level security in the database. Documents you upload are private to the business that uploaded them.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Email code@motabhai.tax to request an export or deletion of your account and data. We'll action it.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential session storage to keep you signed in, plus product analytics to understand how the product is used. We do not use advertising trackers.

UAE PDPL alignment

We align our practices with the principles of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, collecting only what's needed, keeping data secure, letting you access and delete your data, and being clear about who processes it.
